Monasteries of Benedictine Women in Canada and the United States
The Federation of St. Gertrude comprises 12 autonomous member monasteries of Benedictine women. Established with three founding communities in 1937, our network now spans from the Appalachian plateau to the Pacific Coast, and from Arkansas to Western Canada. Each monastery maintains distinct ministries including education, retreat direction, hospital chaplaincy, and contemplative liturgical prayer.
